I have the Compass software - I installed it and downloaded data once. I have not looked at it since.

I think that I found it somewhat clumsy and it did not let me create customized charts.

I would not buy it again.

Hello Jbud, Do you have a IrDa trancivier for your meter to communicate to the computer?
I have the Accu-Check Performa and to upload data needs the IrDa to do it with, Also what Version is the Compass softwhare as I have V 1.4.0.8.

      JBUD,

I have an Ascencia meter from Bayer and downloaded their Winglucofacts Pro software, I have used it once or twice. Instead I use an Excel spreadsheet, which I enter my BG readings into, I find that the process of entering the information makes me stop and look at the day's readings and I'm more aware of where I am with them. In the spreadsheet I have a few workbooks, one where I have logged every reading since I was DX'ed, another where I record my weight and then I have separate workbooks which have the readings for each period between seeing my doctor, so for example I saw my Doctor on 18th Dec and will see him again on 29th Feb so I have a workbook covering the readings for 18th Dec to 29th Feb. I also have charts in the workbooks so I can graphically see the trends for the period.

Just me, I like gadgets, but I do prefer manually entering the data.

I found winglucofacts pro really good, it does the trick without the effort of manually enter all my information into a spread sheet. I don’t really have time to do it, only manual thing I do is entering my insulin injections helping me to keep track of things.

I really like SIDiary for downloading my meter. Drivers for almost all meters are available from the company. It comes with several different templates for charts, including a couple that work really well for pumping. My doc really likes the charts and graphs- I just print out the last 3 months before each appointment.

The only slight glitch is that it's produced by a German company, so some of the instructions are a little clunky due to translation. But I've had no big issues figuring out how things worked.

Don't get me wrong, Winglucofacts is a nice piece of software and in time I may swap to using it. I just find entering the information helps me focus on my BG levels.

Not sure where diabuddies is with their support for various meters, but you may want to check. Haven't heard from BriOnH lately...

Winglucofacts Pro has a range of really useful options that would be difficult to replicate easily using Excel. I find modal day particularly useful. If you look at 2 weeks data you can see the daily patterns by the trends, and any of the outliers are easy to ignore.

I just received the compass software and infrared receiver today and set it up I have been using the uts software in my palm and then uploading it to my PC then I have to send it to excel worksheet. This is alot of work and I really like the graphs
But to many hoops to jump through so I’m going to try the compass software and see how it does!
