I need a room just to store these monitors

It's getting ridiculous. When diagnosed, about a year ago, I contacted some of the glucose monitor manufacturers about getting one of their monitors and I soon received a few in the mail. Since then I have been receiving new monitors at the rate of two per month and some of them from companies I have had no contact with. Just four days ago a FreeStyle Mini was in the mail and today I got a OneTouch Mini with a letter saying I won this in a contest (I haven't entered any contests).

At present I have 22 monitors here (I've given a few away) collecting dust. I wonder if it would do any good to write to these companies and ask them to stop sending me these things.

I have given most of my "free" meters away. If you post, there are many that don't have meters or a spare. I am sure you could give them away. There is also your local ADA or some other charitable organization that will take an unopened meter. Even a few vet clinics.

I think right now I have two spares. One I will keep and one I will happily donate to anyone who needs it.

I hand some of them out to family members....since we have such a strong family history of T2. I also have given a few to a local church who does medical mission trips.

Also, anyone who needs a monitor can check with CVS, they have a free monitor giveaway each quarter.

I send extra meters to Project Cure. You can google them for their distribution center in Denver. I sent an email and they replied back with info for mailing.

I also sent extra batteries.

Kevin, what charity do you donate to? I have quite a stash of test strips right now that I'd like to donate before they expire.

Thanks for the info!
