One catch....

"(with the purchase of 100 iTest Strips)."

Cool deal though if someone wants the meter but I couldn't even find the strips on my insurance list.

That's not much of a string. You need the strips anyway. I can do 100 in a week on my apparantly limitless plan It might only be Canadian¿ I see mmol/l on the display.

That's because the iTest is for Canada only (as xMenace said)...In the US, it's the AgaMatrix Wavesense Keynote meter. I haven't seen where they were offering it for free in the US, other than through places like liberty medical...I think Funnygrl got one that way.

My pharmacy will give me any meter I want for free as long as I buy 100 strips. They always get me to fill out the forms so they can send them in and get reimbursed from the manufacturer. Try asking your pharmacists. I'm curious why I can do it but Americans can't.

Ya, and I orderd a new Nova Max Link today too. It should be here sometime in 2009 I'll get a new Contour Link this year too, and I'll probably try one of these iTests out too.

i like the look of the iTest meter, but i currently really like the simplicity of the accu-chek compact plus... there's zero fiddling with test strips and i love that feature too much to change to something where i need to handle the strips.

the same company also had a concept of a meter about the size and shape of an insulin pen... that really does look interesting!

I really like the upgraded version of the Ascencia Contour. Because, the test strips are the kind that expire after one month. and you do not have to activate them.

But the this monitor does have a big screen which I like about that.

I've tried it. I like it. You can't change the time frames for meals without the software, which is irritating, and the memory controls are a little less intuitive than other meters I've used. Also, the backlight isn't manually controlled. It's always on. My understanding is all of these issues are being addressed in later models- soon.

The meter is small, the case is small, and it seems accurate and has large, easy to read display. Overall, I like it, but for now it seems more practicial to stick with more readily available meters.

Anyone remember the monitor that looked like a pen? I got it when I was diagnosed back in 1989, for the life of me, I cannot remember who made it!!!!

The Precision QID... It came in a pen looking meter as well as what we would expect a meter to look like...
