Interesting trend...

Since i work in a medical warehouse sending out different medical supplies all day- of which a lot is diabetes supplies, i can't help to notice a trend of which monitor people use.
I have found that mainly type 2 diabetics use the Elite/Elite XL and Contour meters, while the type 1's seems to prefer the Accu-Chek compact or Aviva or One Touch ultra.
It's even gone so far now so i've started to call the Elite and Contour for Type2 meters
So just out of pure interest while having nothing better to do...

Which meter(s) do you use and also add if you're type 1 or 2 Could just be fun to see if it's really a trend or if it's just what i think

Well that's interesting, I'm a T2 and I have the One Touch Ultra, kind of doesn't follow the trend?

I like how small it is and being able to follow my averages, before and after meals with a press of the button.

I use Ascensia Contour. Not had any problems with it unlike my old contour which I had lots of random readings on a trip in whales probably was a heat issue, ie too cold.

I'm type 2 and use the One Touch Ultra II.

I'm curious as to how you know what diabetic types are ordering the meters. Does type 1 or type 2 appear on the orders?

I use the Freestyle Freedom and got a second meter exactly like it for free from Craigslist. Works great.

I use the Freestyle Cozmonitor (it's a Flash in disguise). I used to use the One Touch meters, until I got my pump.

Type 1 here.

I use the One Touch Ultra. It was given to me by my endo; I don't think I've ever paid for a glucose meter.

I'm type one and my favorites are AccuChek Complete (no longer being made), Freestyle Flash, and OneTouch UltraSmart. I like the AccuChek and Freestyle products because of their accuracy and the Complete and UltraSmart for their memory.

I use the Relion Ultima.

If it is any consolation, I have never been one to follow trends. But I am a cheap SOB . . .
