Hi .I'm new here.This is my first question.I have a one touch ultra.When on it display momentary mmol/L and mg/dl.
Then mg/dl disappear.According to my instruction book,mmol/L
is used in The Netherlands and mg/dl in other part of the world.
My teststrips show only 109-145mg/dl.
According to the drugstore,the range on the teststrip is divided by 18 and indicated in mmol/L.
Is this true ?
It is impossible to access menu in my one touch ultra and
choose between mmol/L and mg/dl.

Welcome to the forums, you might like to introduce yourself in the Introductions section.
Generally in Europe we do use mmol/L and it would be normal for your meter to be set to use mmol/L. Your drugstore is correct that to convert from mmol/L to mg/dl you would multiply by 18 and to convert from mg/dl to mmol/L you would divide by 18.
However your meter should do all the conversion for you and just display the results in mmol/L. I have a different meter, but on the test strips it also mentions 103-142mg/dL, below that it shows the range 5.7-7.9 mmol/L.
Is you meter working and giving you results?

I think you have an American monitor. They are the only country I know that still uses mg/dl.
I cannot change my Ultra 2, and the manual only shows mmol/l.
Where did you get this meter? Can you exchange it?
Yes, you can divide by 18. |

The calculation factor of 18 is indeed correct.
Every meter I've owned has had an option to change between units. Try to access the user manual online & follow the instructions. Good luck.

You learn something everyday. You'd think that with something that simple, it'd be in all of them. Why have 2 distribution channels and all the problems that entails? Ah, marketing may have had a hand...

My question was ,can you use strips showing mg with one touch ultra that show result in mmol/L.
Manufacturer's site does not deal with conversion,does not say
how to toggle between mmol/L and mg/L.
I already used it.If my meter convert the teststrip range mg/l
it is fine.
