Trying to get a Freestyle Lite Upgrade

I have a question for all you meter hounds out there.

I got a free meter from Abbott a few weeks ago - a Freestyle Lite. I love it but I have a couple of Flash meters and a bunch of Flash strips I cannot use with the Lite. I asked Abbott if I could trade one of my Flash meters for a Lite. They sent me a notice by return email that they need to talk to me and included a phone number even.

So here's the question:
Anybody have any idea what I might get asked and how I might want to answer to get this upgrade approved?
Mike

Yes Mike. I called them and told them my Flash meter was broken. They asked me to return it and wanted to know if I wanted to change to the lite. I told them I had over 500 strips for the Flash, so they sent me 500 strips for the lite and a new meter.

Let them know you have a ton of strips. They won't want you to return the strips (I kept mine for another meter), but they sent me the meter and replacement strips anyhow.

They will be more than happy to get you a Lite I bet. Giving you a meter is an investment for them.

Thanks all. I think I will be able to get them to upgrade without any tomfoolery. I just wanted to be aware of any litmus tests they might be using to screen users into yes & no bins. I'll call & keep my fingers crossed.

you can get freestyle lite on line for free with 10 strips.. first type in Google, Freestyle Lite ... then click sponsor link which says..

FreeStyle Lite Meter

FreeStyle Freedom Lite Meter Choose a Free Meter.

it is the only way i can get the link to give me the form to fill out.

when i send people the link it does not work. Let me know if this works for you.

Has any one recieved the meter via this program?

Mike, if they for some reason won't send you one, let me know. I have one that I got from an offer here. Found out my insurance doesn't cover Freestyle meters. The meter I have is brand new, never used. If you want it or know of anyone who needs it, let me know.
