Liberty Medical

I was diagnosed Type II in June of 07'. I expected it due to family history but had kept myself out of the loop longer than other family members. Type II had added complications to my sister's condition that led to her early death so I took diet and the disease seriously. My doctor wanted and wants me to test 4 times daily. I explored the meters and supply companies and settled on the Ultra One Touch II and Liberty Medical for supplies every 3 months.

After my first two shipments from Liberty I received the 3rd in December. They had switched the lancets from the Ultra Soft to their own brand, Liberty Easy Twist Off Cap. No sorry. Not easy to twist off if you load it first but not a problem. However, when I began using them there was something different from the Ultra Soft Lancets. Pain. I test on my fingers; my preference.

I thought they had changed just for that shipment so went ahead and used that one but the second shipment came and it was again their brand. I called and was told they had informed me but... they hadn't, they simply shipped their own brand. I didn't blame customer service but knew the company decided to better their bottom line by saving money on the lancets they ship and charging me the same. I requested a mailing label, sent the shipment back and cancelled my account with Liberty. I received a letter 20 days ago saying they were crediting Medicare and me but, they haven't.

I've been told if they change my order in any way they will inform me but 2 orders were sent and they didn't. My doctor consults with me about my health and medicines before we do any changes. I would expect the same from Liberty except I am no longer a Liberty customer. I expect anyone from the doctor to my suppliers to take Type II as seriously as I do. Liberty didn't live up to those expectations.
