| I have always used OneTouch meters but from the very beginning I have hated almost all their pokers. Several years ago I found the Softclix and have stuck with it ever since. I did have to replace mine at one point after probably 6 or 7 years of 5-8 tests a day. I just went to the pharmacy and picked up a new one.
They are large and only take special lancets, but to me it is well worth it. It seems to move in a very straight line and not have a lot of sideways movement that I noticed with some others. But you could always try a few and see what you like. Although I wouldn't say testing is ever painless, it also shouldn't be torture either.
