OneTouch DMS - Vista problems

I have just purchased OneTouch Diabetes Management Software Kit and I've spent many hours figuring out how to make it work on Vista.
Each time I try to run the software (installation seems to be fine) I'm receiving error message Runtime error ‘-2147467259(80004005)’ and one more line method '~' of object '~' failed.

And that's it. There is no error log or anything. Has anyone experienced the same problem before and does anyone have any directions how to make this stuff working?
According to LifeScan version 2.3.2 (which is the version that I'm installing) should be compatible with Vista.

Eager to hear some thoughts on this! Thanks!

Seems you are not the first to have this issue. Use the search function above and type in Vista OneTouch and you will find several threads on this subject. I am not sure if anyone else has had luck since these were written. Here is one thread on the subject.

Lifescan Software & Vista?

Thanks for pointing out. This actually helped since I now managed to start the software. I turned on my Administrator account on my Vista Home Premium and installed the software with this account - it only works while logged with Administrator (the same previous error when logged with other user) - but nevertheless, I'll survive with that.

However, I now experience another problem with similar magnitude - each time I click Download Meter Readings after a while application crashes. Does anyone have any idea what I might try next?

Thanks!

I have Vista on my laptop and the same version of the One Touch Software and it's been working great for me. I even got the prior version to work (which was not made for Vista), but it was quirky. The new release has been working beautifully for me.

What version of Vista are you using?
I really don't know where to look in order to solve this problem. Were there some special permission settings that should be applied in order OneTouch software to be able to communicate with the meter?
I was able to connect the meter with Carelink web software and everything works fine. However OneTouch is constantly giving me troubles. This was very frustrating weekend I was so eager to get this thing started

I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium. I don't remember doing anythng special to make it work. I use it with three meters, and just plug them in using USB cable.

Your problem in two words.
Windows Vista.
All the big companies will not switch to it.
1. Has to many problems and bugs. Blocks everything except Microsoft milware.
2. Even with SP1 on Vista it's still slower than XP with SP2.
I took a class on it in school and it was the worlds bigggest piece of junk. Would not connect to the Internet right, Did not like the USB ports some times. Heck it even hatted the CD and DVD drives sometimes.
3. Eats a lot on memory to run all that cool junk in the background.
Just not worth it.

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shakin' hands, sayin' "How do you do?"
They're really saying "I love you"

I know everyone bashes Vista but I have been using it since last August and have had NO problems. It's on my laptop that I use for home and office. There were a few pieces of software that wouldn't work on it but I do not expect that stuff to work / be compatible forever. I am about the only one I've heard admit they like Vista, but I do like Vista
