If you call "ONE TOUCH" at 1-888-856-9803 They will give a free meter of your choice, I just rec'd the Ultra Smart.
If they ask who referred you, you just say your insurance name...in my case it was Pacificare. They do not ask for insurance ID#..they just say..."Be sure and get a prescription from you doctor for the test strips"
And it was at my house in 2 days, they even give you a choice of their three newest models, and color choices too.

Thumbs down No Help From One Touch

Well When I Sent an e-mail to one touch they never replied
and when called and told them how I use @ 200 test strips a month and would like to use there ultra smart they told me that I could look on the internet and find a good price and it comes with a 50.00 dollar rebate. I was sent a coupon for a free Meter from Accu-Chek and went with that.
My Experience with one touch was bad and could not understand why they did not hook me up to make more sales of their test strips?

I think it's really "Lifescan" who are the ones sending all the free meters. They sent me three!

I have never paid for a One Touch meter and I have been using them for 17 years. Call and speak with another person, you may have better luck .

You can get one free from this link
https://onetouch.orderpoints.com/ , it just asks who your insurance is, mine is Anthem BCBS, that is how I got my last ultra smart.

I used the link in palefacegirl03's post. If you try different names for Insurance Co's the available meters change. Some ask for verification info or codes from some upgrade letter. Some don't. I found one that only asked for name and shipping address.

I got a free Ultrasmart in 5 days.

It all depends on how you approach them. Be kind, curteous, but firm. Let them know that you are an educated customer and willing to switch to someone else. Also, the best way is to find out who your local sales rep is and deal with them. usually your doctor's office or diabetes educator can give you that info.

Yeah, the Multiclix lancet pen with the Aviva is really a gift from God. I do love that little gadget. Here's a tip. You can use the same lancet more than once with the MC. Just don't turn the plunger. Just push it in for the next test and you'll get the same lancet. I use the same lancet about 10 times. LOL.

I used to change mine each time I used it until I found out it was okay to reuse - now I don't remember the last time I changed it.

Yeah, I actually did that on "accident". I didn't really know how to use it, so I pushed it in and re-used one...then read the instructions where it said to twist the dial to get a new one....I'll only get a new one when it starts to get dull and hurt

Talking Free aviva and 60 test strips

https://www.accu-chek.com/promo/us/usdrtvpromo.htm

hint, hint. in order to get the free meter......
you must pick
1) that you use insulin
2) test more then 3 times a day
3) you already use an accu-chek meter (pick the active)

you'll get A free aviva, and 60 test strips....

I don't go that long. I will use a lancet about 3 or 4 times before I twist the plunger. I have insurance, so my copay for the lancets is only $10 USD. I now have almost a full box extra. I plan to continue to fill on the soonest available date, and donating my extras to foundations that help those that can't afford to buy them.

Regards,
