| | | Favorite Lancing Instrument? Less than three weeks into this, I have already figured out that you don't have to use the same lancing instrument as meter. After all, it's just a skin hole punching instrument, right?
Since the lancing is the worst part of testing (well, other than the price of the test strips), I was just wondering what you more experienced folks figure is your favorite lancing instrument?
Obviously, I'm looking for the best lancing instrument for my own use, and would appreciate your insights. |

| | I just recently went to a TCOYD diabetes conference and it was awesome! But I got a free meeter because I wanted the pokey thing.
This lancer looks really cool and is way less painful than the other one I used that came with my one touch meter. It's really smooth. Though the pricking my fingers has never bothered me this is really nice.
I'd recommend it.
It's called: Microlet 2 by Bayer
Here is a website. If you try it let me know what you think! =D CONTOUR® Meter: Bayer Diabetes Meters - FREE CONTOUR, glucose meter, glucose testing, glucofacts

| | | I use the one that came with my One Touch UltraSmart. It has an adjustable head so you can adjust how far in the point goes. I don't know if it's better or worse than anything else out there. I've always used whatever came with my meter, mainly because whatever came was newer and better than the last one.

| | | The Microlet that came with my Breeze isn't bad, but I like the Freestyle lancing device much better. For one thing, I can lance multiple sites with the same device by using different caps that come with it. You can only lance your fingers with the microlet. The other reason I like the Freestyle lancing device better is that it's less painful, as long as I use the right lancets.
The only problem with it I've had is that I am using up my lancets that I had for my microlet, and they're not quite the same fit. They work, but it sometimes takes me a try or two. It works just fine with the appropriate lancet.

| | | I don't use a device at all. I just jam it into my arm. I know it sounds kind of ruthless, but it is the best option for me. I hate dealing with those devices.

| | | A switch blade works. Don't ask how I know this.
But, usually I use the thingy that came with my comtour.
It's almost painless.

| | | i like the accu chek soft clix... same technology as the multiclix only less bulky as it doesn't have lancet drum.
Accu-chek is the best lancing device i've used and definatly the least painful.

| | | If you do alternate site testing, the very best IMO is the Vaculance. It sucks the blood a little, so you make a tinier hole.
By far the least pain. |

| | | I change the lancet with each new vial of strips- if I remember. So that's every 25 tests- or so.

| | | My vote is absolutely for the Multiclix. It is the most painless device I've ever used and I'm pretty sure I've tried them all, lol.
