Smile Exciting United Healthcare CGMS Information

It took a long time for UHC to process my MM claim for the startup kit ! It was paid today at a contracted amount with Minimed ! Looks like about a 10% reduction ! Im excited because UHC has recognized CGMS as legitimate medical treatment and being one of the largest health care insurers in the country, may be leading the way for other companies! Im hopeful this information may be useful for some in their appeal process ! Good luck, Dan

they have paid for the Navigator CGMS twice for me, first the device and some sensors and second a sensor refill. BUT keep in mind that every policy is different

Wish I had started pumping 15 years ago

Since Smiths Medical has given up, I hope there will be more options available in 2 or 3 years - if not I may just go back to MDI

UHC paid for my pump and CGMS together last year. They wouldn't pay for the CGMS standalone, I had to get the pump too.

UHC paid for my sensors when I started using them in November 2007. I already had the pump, though.
