One more question...

How long after waking up in the mornings do you do your first bg test for the day? It seems like if I test immediately after waking up, my bg is higher than if I wait a few minutes... thoughts?

I don't test immediately when I wake up, usually 1/2 hr or so afterwards. I think the more important thing is to consistently test the same time each morning, that way should your numbers get out of whack you'll know it.

I test every morning at the same time (6:25am) after getting out of the shower. I'm up and out of bed at 6:15.

I always test when I get up, which is usually 7AM. I find that, if I wait until I'm really awake & moving, I forget to do it then. I
