A1c result - good news

I just got my first A1c result back from testing done after two months of pumping....7.5!!!! I am so excited. I realize I have LOTS of room for improvement, but after years of struggling for better results and fighting the frustration of A1cs in the mid-8 region, this is great for me.

*contented sigh* ahhhh....progress at last.

Thanks for letting me share that.

Good job

You'll probably see more improvement as you continue to master the pump and fine tune your basal rates and bolus ratios.

Great. Believe it or not you might get results in the high 5's to mid 6's, within a year or so of beginning to pump, after having started out with excessively high numbers as you mentioned. I started out even higher than you and I've had numbers as low as 5.9. Usually I'm arount 6.3 to 6.4

That's excellent news, DixiePixie! I am very positive that with pump therapy, your A1C's will come down even further. Keep up the super work and we're all rooting for ya!

for you A1C!

My philosophy is even if A1C doesn't go down as much as we would like... the important thing is for the numbers to decrease, even if it means just a little.

Keep up the good work!

I agree.

Thanks so much everyone for pats on the back. I am so happy to be feeling better these days. AND best of all to know that I still have room for improvement and it is happening! After working so hard for so many years and never improving and sometimes getting worse, this is like a breath of fresh air for me.
