Lowest A1c Yet!

Just got blood work and everything looked good including an A1c of 6.7!

Yes! Working out 5 days a week and testing like a fiend pays off. Where are the bagels? Just kidding...

I miss bagels too! Though it sounds as though you're doing very well without them. Congrats on your success!

Way to go Mike!

I have had 2 bagels in the past year. They were a passion. Seriously. I really don't miss them now.

You are approaching the finish line, well not the finish line, the road you want to be on! Hot stuff!

Yeah, I do miss the bagels but I especially miss the whole bagel, lox and cream cheese thing. I do find I can scoop a bagel and get away with half and not suffer over it but carbs were such a large part of growing up! I miss a lot of those childhood comfort foods - bagels, corn, rice, mashed potatoes, cap'n crunch. Well, enough of the good old days. On to the future and a 6.5!

Congrats Mike, hope you are very proud of yourself!

I reckon you deserve a bagel as an A1c treat

Keep on fighting the good fight!

Thanks Dave. Did I read that you might be going on insulin or was that some dream thread? Good luck with that. If you need it, nothing will make you feel better faster. At least that was my experience.

Mike, I assume you might be a bit like me with lots of 7 upwardish kind of A1cs in your past. I know exactly how great it feels to make inroads into the 6s! Congrats. Onward and upwards... or should I say downwards...

Subby, exactly right. Lots of 7's. I had a 6.9 once then right back up to 7.1. Downwards indeed!

Congrats Mike and I can really relate to what you said about the bagel and comfort foods. I was in a conversation the other day about the need for comfort foods and I mentioned mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and chicken noodle soup as the first three things that popped in my head and then I said, wait those really are uncomforting foods anymore (from a BG perspective.). Keep up the good work!
