| | | I don't Qualify A coworker sent me a link to get a One Touch Ultra Mini for free.
So I filled out the form only to be told that I don't currently qualify.
Hmm Lessee,
Maybe because I already use a Onetouch meter?
Maybe because I didn't give them permission to spam me with adds?
Can't think of why else.
Funny too, they ask how often I test but the choices only go as high as 4 times daily.
I test 10 times/day. Even that is flying blind too often.
Maybe they figure they sell enough of those strips? |

| | | Send another link accepting their spam. Then set up a rule refusing it. But wait for them to ship the meter.
Or could just ask your MD. Amazing how easy it is to get one for nothing.

Maybe they figure they sell enough of those strips? | Did you get your current meter for free? The first time I tried to get a mini for free, shortly after they came out with them, I didn't "qualify". It was because I had got a free Ultra 2 and it hadn't been quite a year. I was told they only give one free meter per year, whether its a new model or not.

Never got a free meter.
I think I'm using the one I bought when I was diagnosed 16 years ago. Nah, can't be. did they even sell the Onetouch ultra 16 years ago? |

| | | A lot of those it depends on what you put as your insurance company and what you put as insulin method. |

IIRC they didn't ask about insurance. I did check off Multiple Daily Injections.
My co worker said he was using a OneTouch when he got his so that can't be it.
Maybe they just don't like me |

| | | If your doctor doesn't have one to give you, you should call Lifescan and ask for one. There is no reason to pay for a meter EVER. They're making money off the strips, not the meters and if you're using their meter there is no reason why you should not "qualify". I would ask them why? And there ARE other meters...much better than OneTouch IMO. I know many like them and trust them, but as many have complained they require a lot of blood and tend to give a lot of errors. (although I still think I'm having better luck with the "new" blue strips). I use them ONLY because I use the Ping.
