My dad also had the same type of issue & tried *everything* - sleep studies, biofeedback, even an attempt (advised by doctors) to "reset his circadian clock" by going to bed an hour earlier each day (and getting up after exactly 8 hours whether he'd slept or not) for 24 days straight until he got back to the time he wanted to go to bed (

not sure what good that was supposed to do since if you can't go to sleep at 10 pm, you're surely not going to go to sleep at 9 or 8 or 7...maybe an hour *later* each night would work.)
