Freestyle light supplies from John's Pharmacy in MO

Over the past year, I have benefited from the kindness of a person on this board that gave me quite a few test strips. I also lucked out and was given a few hundred from Abbott and a pharmacy. As I was starting to use up my supply, I went looking for a new cheap source. I think I found one in John's Pharmacy in Missouri. I haven't received a shipment yet, but I fill out their new customer form and they have email me back 2-3 times on Thanksgiving answering my questions. They ask for your social, which I won't give out and they emailed back, no problem, just leave it blank. They only need it if you are using medicare part d (i think). Anyway, if you are a member of the freestyle promise program, they will send you a new free meter and either 50 strips for $7.50 or 100 strips for $15. Where I live, I couldn't find a deal like that. I wanted to pass this on and they also asked me to do so. I'll update this when the first shipment arrives and post how it went. They emailed me and said I should have a package go out Friday. I'm not sure how they bill, since they didn't ask for a credit card or anything. If anyone has used them and has good or bad information, please post. Here's hoping for the best. Their website is at

Here is the post on their site:

Just to update. They called and emailed me today and stated a new meter and 100 strips are going out today. Total charge is $15 with the freestyle promise card. Shipping and tax included. I can pay them by check when the package arrives or call them and pay with a credit card. If it stays like this, I think it's about the best deal for freestyle strips.

I thought there would be interest in this since I see people asking about low cost strips.

The result of the first order seem very good. The company sent me a package with a new meter and the starter 10 strips along with 2 (50 count) boxes of freestyle lite strips. They didn't have a prescription yet or a payment and I received them yesterday. I called today to setup payment and to get the script faxed by my doctor. The total charge for shipping and the products was $15.00. With the Freestyle promise card, locally I would still pay over $50.00 for 100 strips. I think it's a great deal.

I hope it works out for you.
I am in the patient assitance program with Abbot, they send my 3 months worth of test strips ( only 100 a month, I need to get another script into them). It was very easy to do and took no time at all to get it started.

thank you, I shall have to check out & see how this works with Medicare part D. right now I am getting all my D supplies from a local pharmacy & it runs about $30 a month for 100 strips, lancets & 30 Mets. I did enroll in the Promise program too, I think I saw some blurb about Medicare, I think that has some effect on it, I will call the toll free number on Monday. I know I bought 100 strips at Rite Aid, with no script, & they cost over $100.00. Don't want to do that again.

I've only had the initial shipment and my impression is that they are a traditional pharmacy that is trying to build an internet business. They don't as of yet have a way to accept payments on the net, but that didn't stop them from shipping my supplies. They just included an invoice and I'm guessing, hoped I would pay up. I called and gave them a credit card for that and future business. I don't see how they make any money on this, I paid $15 and it cost $4.45 to ship, then they mailed me my receipt for another 44 cents. I hope the Promise program offers them some profits so they continue to do this. I spoke to them and they seem very professional and willing to help.

Your $30 a month doesn't sound too bad considering it includes 30 met. I pay a little over $18 for 180 tablets at Costco. A 60 day supply at Costco costs around $9, so by buying in bulk, I get a month free every 3rd month. Hope it works out for you whichever way you go , no one wants to pay that $100 bill for strips.

$30 a month is not bad, but I have a bucket load of other meds to buy. My abbot freestyle adviser just called, he said I can get $50 off 100 strips, & if I can find my receipt for the ones I already paid full price for, he may be able to help. I hope I can find it. The 100 a month I get fairly cheaply, do not cover all the testing I want/need to do.
