Day two of Byetta 10 mcg (2 x daily) exenatide injection. Today’s average BG reading: 100. I had a stressful day. I was home with all three of my boys because of the snow. The youngest was sick and whiney. The oldest decided to head out to a friend’s house and he got a flat tire and I had to fix it in weather that was in the low teens. Then my wife called from work and said the mini-van wouldn’t move in drive or reverse. So, I had to go get her from work and then have her vehicle towed across town to a local transmission shop that had worked on it during the holidays (defective neutral safety switch). By the end of the day, I was acting like Beavis ("Cornholio") running around on a sugar high.

Just before breakfast (at 10:45 a.m., nearly five hours after the pumpkin seeds, in downtown Berkeley): 85
Breakfast: 3 eggs over easy, two sausage patties (it was the $5.99 breakfast special at the diner--two eggs any style; choice of bacon, sausage links, and sausage patties; choice of muffin, toast, or pancake; choice of hash browns or fried potatoes; we traded the bread and potato choices for an extra egg)
Went for a walk down Telegraph Avenue, bought a tied-dyed onesie for a friend who is having a baby, and took a walk through the Berkeley Rose Garden

Dinner was at an organic Chinese Restaurant out in Moraga. Eight people. The place was small, but busy; I made an executive decision that I would not try to fine-tine the menu, or the preparation of any of the dishes, but would be judicious in what I ate. We ordered the Szechuan dinner for 8. Potstickers (I opened the wrappers and ate the fillings); hot and sour soup (no noodles, so I ate a bowl--no clue what it was thickened with); I skipped the orange chicken, the salt and pepper fish (it was fried); the mango shrimp (anything with a sweet-based sauce). I had beef and green beans; chicken salad (lightly breaded, which I scraped off, and I chanced the sesame seed dressing on the greens); Malacan beef with asparagus and mushrooms (wonderful); pepper beef. Dessert was almond rocas, fresh oranges, and fortune cookies; I skipped. I didn't eat until I was stuffed. We all went over to my twin brother's house for coffee and more dessert: fruit and Trader Joe's cheesecake (an assortment of different ones). I had coffee and a handful of blueberries.
