my husband had 88 this morning - yesterday was practically the height of cheating on Carbs. Had an 8 AM appt at Foot Dr. Wow! Getting diabetic shoes, custom fitted. Can't wait to feel them. Got a Cortisone shot in ball of foot - feels better already. It was impossible to even touch, let alone put weight on it. Finally a Dr. that actually makes him feel better!!

Stopped at eye glass place and found they had 2 openings in an hour, we went for Starbucks coffee and waited. That was the worse coffee we have ever had! Even loaded with sugar it was barely drinkable. (We are spoiled from Chock Full of Nuts, New York Roast, very good coffee) Have to remember not to buy coffee out, get something else to drink. We also bought rolls at a convenience store. Called them Cherry Cheese Danish. 46 carbs, 660 calories of mushy goo. At least we didn't get the low Carb shakes, since we had not had breakfast.

Worse part is, now I am stuck getting up at 7 AM. How can that get programmed in my head so quickly? When I was young, I couldn't get up. Needed 2 alarm clocks and my Mother to call me.

At least it is going to rain again today. Yeah!! Lovely to see the grass green.

      Have a nice weekend,
      janice

98 this morning! Feeling really good about realizing that I was not taking my night time Glipizide the right way; made a lot of difference for the good. Thanks to all who gave such good advice.

Quick check-in from Edinburgh, Scotland. This week I've been walking, A LOT! 3 to 6 miles a day, on varying terrain. I've been keeping food choices fairly low carb, but a couple days I've fallen victim to the Scottish shortbread. So buttery! Last night I had a couple slices of whole wheat bread with butter before going to sleep. Surprised to find that my morning reading was 134. I fully expected something in the 160s.

Walking Glasgow today. Gosh, it's so pretty here!

I have thought about it and think prehaps the elevations of the last couple days has been caused by a new supplement combo I started taking. Inositol & choline. The inositol could be the type related to niacin and niacin always elevates me.

If anyone knows anything about this supplement related to bgs, please share the info with me. I have not found any good info doing a web search... I did find there are about 8 types of Inositol, but the bottle only says Inositol & Choline.

I left it off today and will leave it off till I am back in normal ranges again. I will try it again after a few days back in range and see if I elevate again. If it was just fbg I would not be concerned, but it is staying elevated all day and even going up into the 120s.

Getting off those class of drugs was the best thing I did for my diabetes, in conjuction with cutting carbs. It made my bgs stablize and I got off the rollercaster!
