| | | Lancet Question...Does anyone know for sure or has any tried... Any one have any actual experience using the **OneTouch Ulta Soft (white) lancets** in the **FreeStyle Flash lancer (finger pricker)**. Do they work as well? Are they the same size? More or less pain?
The reason I ask is that I am thinking of switching to the FreeStyle Flash meter but have a few boxes of OneTouch Ultra Soft Lancets left. I can't just use the OneTouch pricker with the FreeStyle meter because it is ineffective at drawing enough blood for arm tests whereas the FreeStyle draws just enough blood. In the future it was reccomended I buy BD 33g lancets and use them in the FreeStyle. For now though I have 200 OneTouch lancets left but do not want to try them in the FreeStyle unless I know they will work AND not cause our child more pain by using them in the FreeStyle.
Thanks again. |

Thanks again. | Have you read the instructions for using the one touch picker for doing an arm test? there is a clear cap and you have to PUSH and HOLD to get the drop when testing on the arm. I detest the Flash picker. I use either the Compact picker or the Lifescan picker when using my Flash. |

| | | OneTouch For whatever reason the OneTouch does not work on my arm; even set on the deepest setting with the clear cap and trying to milk it. The FreeStyle does work. Personally I like the OneTouch priker better too but it does not get the blood for me. I must admit I find the Flash's pricker more of a pain to load and cock.
I wish company would have the best of all worlds. I can just see it, 3 months from now I'll be using the Flash's meter, BD 33g lancets and another brand pricker!
Can I as what you do not like about the FreeStyle's pricker? |

We just use whatever lancet we grab. We have those little plastic drawers to keep all of the supplies in and the top drawer there are a bunch of lancets. I can't even keep track of what kind. If it fits we use it and they all fit. Taylor has never complained about one kind hurting anymore than another.

Can I as what you do not like about the FreeStyle's pricker? | It doesn't pierce my skin most of the time. I have callused finger tips, which the other prickers can get through. Also, my wife and I are constantly pulling the Flash pricker apart by accident when we go to cock it. Ever had that happen? |

| | | I'll try the OneTouch lancet with the Freestyle lancet device when I get home. I can let you know how it works on the fingers. Do you want me to try the arm? I never use the arm because I've never been able to get a large enough drop of blood from it.

| | | Both the onetouch and the freestyle take standard lancets, so you will be fine in whatever device you use the lancets with. The only lancing devices they won't work in are the Softclix and Multiclix. |

| | | I've tried it a few times today and the pain isn't bad but I'm sure it is more than a child would like. I find the OneTouch UltraSoft lancet device to be less painful, so far. I have only used it on my fingers so I don't know what it would be like on the arm.

I have tons of Accu-chek soft touch ( they are blue) and also of the One Touch fine point(purple ), they both fit the FS device. If you would like any let me know, (I now use the Soft Clix and it does not use them). | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
