Choice A1c test matched the lab's

I've used 4 Choice A1c kits and have had one low reading of 5.9 when I expected to be in the low to mid 6's. Recently I had a lab test which matched the Choice--6.1 It's a shame they took the Choice off the market. I'm down to my last one, which I found at Costco for $10 as I've mentioned before on this forum.

did you check the expiration dates? the one's I've purchased don't have much of a shelf life. The one I just got expires in 9 months. (Not that I'm saying they will be worthless a week after that. I find that test strips can go a couple of months past expiration w/o giving bad results, but some strips that I've had expired by more than 6 months have proven to be wildly inaccurate.)

That's my concern. I found about ten at a local CVS, but all expired in 2/06. I wonder when the acuracy will deteriorate?

Poor sales. I never had any issues finding these things on the shelf, esp. now. And now I know why. Which really angers me, because testing the A1c monthly has been a boon to my care!
