Moduretic & diabetes

When my doctor diagnosed diabetes he immediately took me off the moduretic I had been taking for over a year, and put me on insulin. My blood sugar has come down to safe levels.

I wonder if the moduretic was an important factor in my diabetes. It might be wishful thinking but could it be that I was not fully diabetic?

I am asking this question here for more objectivity and personal experiences.
