Blood Pressure Meds

Does anyone know why a beta blocker added to my ace inhibitor causes me to retain fluids? This happened to me before when my PCP tried it. I also take triamterene water pill for the same high blood pressure.

Recently at a diabetic check it is showed higher BP thus them adding the beta blocker. Yes, it caused ankle/leg swelling again. Why??

I complained so she took me off of the beta blocker (Coreg G) and doubled the ace inhibitor from 120 mg. to 320 mg. Why did she not do that at the beginning instead of adding a beta blocker?

I hope someone knows....

Thanks,
Nita

I see 80 views, but no answer. I think you need an appointment with your doctor. If this is your primary care doctor, perhaps you need to see a cardiologist, who would have lots of experience with BP meds.

Not sure what Norvasc is, but it really caused my angles to swell. On DynaCirc now and it does a little too. He said that is just a side effect--one that I don't want. Then you add the water pill. They just keep adding.

See a Dr ASAP. Your kidneys are not filtering properly.

Do you know what your latest Creatnine, Ka+, and BUN readings are? How about protien in urine?

When it comes to your kidneys don't mess around. Dialysis is a He!! I don't wish upon anyone.
