Benifits of Asprin ?

I've noticed many members list asprin as part of their medication regime.
I'm not on any meds yet & was only d'z 3months ago so have heaps to learn.
Do the doctors advise taking asprin or do members just use their own inniative?

I assume its to keep the blood thin.

I occasionally take 2 asprin when chest is acting wierd or when I get wrestless legs.
Should I regularly take small quantities like 1/2 tab?

I don't know exactly why my doctor recommended aspirin but he told me to take 80mg of aspirin a day.

Hi.
a small dose of aspirin a day is used to help keep the blood thin so clots are less likely to form .There fore reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes,

Hi again, I should had noted you are from Australia sorry about that. You can get 100 mg tablets here that are enteric coated so are easier on the gut or you can take 1/2 a dispirin which is 150 mgs.(thats what I do).
As A nurse I see a lot of people over 50 on aspirin.
Next time you see your docter tell them you have started aspirin.
