DynaCirc for blood pressure

This is a calcium blocker I believe (which they say diabetics need). I am having a lot of trouble with swelling feet and ankles and he said it was this drug (DynaCirc), but that it wouldn't hurt anything and calcium blockers do this. It does "hurt" as it makes shoes too tight, socks too tight, feet feel tight, etc. Don't like it. He still says I need to take it though. Has anyone else had trouble with this? I take a 12.5 HCTZ (think I got the order right there)--water pills--split a 25. He said to split as the full 25 could cause a rise in glucose.
