Vytorin vs Blood sugar control

I was wondering if anyone has experienced poor control with spiking BS while on Vytorin? I'm a pumper & am having this problem in late afternoon and evening.

I was taken off Vytorin in Feb, when the news reported poor results with Vytorins effect on cholesterol. I did'nt have a problem with spikes. The doc put me on Crestor, but I think it gives me headaches more (side effect) My other doctor said the news blew the Vytorin report, out of the water, and I may get to go back to it.

I am on Vytorin. I get some spikes but I can usually find a carb cause. When do you take the drug - before bed? I'll watch it and pay more attention.

Cholestrol meds do work best if taken at night. If you are taking the Vytorin then it should only affect your fasting bg. My cholestrol meds lovastatin and zetia do not cause mine to vary at all. Thank God for small blessings.

I am on Vytorin, and have been for years. My cholestol has gone down nicely from a high of over 300 to about 140 now. Never noticed it affecting BS. I had alleric affects (liver spikes) when I tried some other meds.

I have been on vytorin for a couple of months now but haven't noticed any spikes. I was told to take it at night and I wake up with normal numbers. Now if I could just get my cholesterol down. How long does it take?

Talking Just started Vytorin

My ldl was at 143 (I felt this was good) however last friday when I was at the doctor I was given a sample pack of vytorin. She wanted me to try it for 3 weeks then come back. She felt it was better then the other statens out there. I have not seen any blood sugar spikes as of yet. When did you all start seeing them?

I've been on Vytorin for...geez...a couple of years now. (Time flies when you're having fun, right?) I've never noticed a spike that I could directly attribute to the med. More often than not, the culprit is poor carb counting on my part.
