| | | Introducing myself Hello to all, my name is Louie. I'm 55 and I was diagnosed in February. My A1C was 9.6% and my FGL was 231. My Doctor put me on Metformin and Avandia.
I decided to get my act together and my goal was to get off the medication. I began eating sensibily and bought a bike. I try to ride at least 3 miles every day and usually triple that distance on the weekend. When I was diagnosed I weighed 237 lbs, although I'm 6'3" most everyone said I carried my weight well. I now weigh 190 lbs, reduced my waist by 6 inches and have a FGL of 90 and average GL of 125 after meals. Occasionaly I cheat but that is a rare when that happens.
