I don't know of that one but I too get sluggish and drunk like and lethargic when I am low but to me low is 2.0 / 36 and I have had diabetes for 36 years. Are you a type 1?

What type of meds are you taking that cause the hypos?

Why do I think you are an extreme low-carber? What's your diet?

How about this -
When was the last time you had a hypo?
What did you eat that day?
What were you doing when you had the low?

As far as I know anyone can have a low in the right situation.
Being active - nothing in your stomach/ not eating properly.

I never have fasting bg above 130, never. Two readings of fbg above 126 is an indicator of diabetes. Your sig says T2 back in 2005 but now you're pre-D? You have hypos but no meds?

If you're not seeing an endo I think you should IMHO. Your natural insulin production/utilization seems to be out of whack, but I'm not a doc.

i had dr say i was diabetic, but when i went to endo, i had had 2-3 weeks of perfectly normal bgs on meter no matter what i ate. so he said i didnt have diabetes.

i get periods where bg is mostly normal then boom, it goes outta whack again.

not sure whats really goin on.

maybe my pancreas is working some of the time...is that common b4 full blown diabetes??

i take NO oral hypoglycemics...on other meds but they have never caused hypos, imo

just dont know what to make of this

Found this interesting article while looking up hypoglycemia:

"Who is at risk for hypoglycemia?

While patients who do not have any metabolic problems can complain of symptoms suggestive of low blood sugar, true hypoglycemia usually occurs in patients being treated for diabetes (type 1 and type 2). Patients with pre-diabetes who have insulin resistance can also have low sugars on occasion if their high circulating insulin levels are further challenged by a prolonged period of fasting."

I would make sure to carry some hard candies with me at all times so that when you feel yourself going low, you can treat it before it becomes a problem.

My sister (not a diabetic) has problems going low if she doesn't eat regularly. She eats several small meals a day to help with this on the advice of her doctor. He also told here that this could be a precursor to T2 diabetes, so she keeps regular checks on her blood sugars and A1c. Her last A1C was 4.5. She's quite overweight, but has never been troubled (yet) by elevated blood sugars.

Have you had a glucose tolerance test?

I don't have a clue, but you are interesting. It's like your pancreas has a gyro in it.
