I have some problems, I need help.

Hi,

I am a 39 year old male, I go to the gym about 5-6 days a week. My diet is not perfect, as of the past few weeks, I have totally craved sweets

My weight is 196. I am a retired/disabled Deputy Sheriff, so I am a stay at home husband. I am in good shape.

In the past week (starting Monday, November 19) I had an attack of frequent urination (bad), very little urine would come out, and I would have to go constantly (it also drips).

On Tuesday, I went to urgent care, had a urine test taken (thought maybe I had a urinary tract infection), everything was fine. The doctor thought it was from me taking Morphine and Ultram (pain med's), my last pain med was actually Monday.

I called up pain management doctor, they disagreed and stated to keep taking, I refused, didn't know what to think.

Today I went to ER, took urine test again, they said I had a good amount of sugar in urine, and I was starting to become diabetic (was labled pre diabetic about 1.5 years ago).

Besides this sign of overactive blatter, I have had other warning signs in past week.

Burning in mouth, thirst, crave for sugar, headaches.

I am also going through some withdrawal from the med's, however ER doc and pharmacist said that drugs are out of system, however still with drawling.

Now, no one seems to think that its the med's that have caused this.

Does this sound like I may have entered Diabetes?

Also, will this issue of the over active blatter ever go away? or not?

Is there any med that will work? Forgot what they prescribed, however its not working.

Also, I haven’t slept in almost 72 hours.

I will be very very honest, I am scared to death, I am freaked, this issue with the bathroom is killing me, let alone I can't sleep without thinking I have to go to the bathroom (and barely anything comes out).

My times between bathroom range from every 5 minutes, to every half hour.

My sugar was over by like 4-6 points in my urine test or prick test. Sugar found in urine tonight, but not on tuesday.

Thanks

Jack

No need for panic Jack. The frequent urination related to diabetes is a result of increased liquid consumption caused by severe thirst. The frequent urination, with the small volume of urine, may be a symptom of something else entirely.

You need to get the doctor for some tests. Probably a glucose tolerance test and definitely an A1c test. This is the only way to find out if you are truly diabetic. If you are diabetic you will be able to quickly get your blood sugar levels under control and the symptoms you described (if they are actually diabetes related) will subside.

So get to the doctor as soon as possible and let us know what you find out.

I've heard that the bathroom issues could be caused by an enlarged prostate - no need to panic if it is - but I'd ask your doc to check it out. Good luck.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to say thanks for your responses.

I saw my primary care doc today.

Let me just back up a sec and say I had some serious withdrawals last night, thank god for my wonderful wife

After the request of myself, my doc did a prostate exam, and indicated that it looks like I have Prostetitis.

He put me on a 2 week supply of Bactrim, Flomax and Clonidine for my withdrawals.

Hopefully the meds will start to work in the next few days

They has been such a horrible experience.

I want to thank everyone for your responses.

I will continue to post and learn from this sight, especially since I have pre diabetes.

Thanks again.

Jack

LMAO Soso.
Personally, I think chocolate may be the cure and am setting up large scale experiments with me as the guinea pig.
