CNN-"Cut caffeine, improve blood sugar"

I'm not sure if anyone saw this on CNN? This is the headline:

"Cut caffeine, improve blood sugar
CNN's Elizabeth Cohen reports on new research that says cutting caffeine can help improve diabetics' blood sugar levels."

Here is the link to the video report:

I hear you Larry!!!!! I've spent the last year downing 4 or 5 Diet Cokes or Coke Zero's and never doing with out my triple expresso every day! I went cold turkey on Jan 1st, dealt with a week of headaches and CRAVINGs and now I'm over it. My wife's doctor says new research suggests the combination of sweetners and caffine make diet sodas highly "addictive". I would take that as pure hear say but when I decided to give them up it made perfect sense.

Yes I'm feeling it too! I was having pretty bad reactive hypoglycemic symptoms, especially AFTER drinking coffee, even black or with just a dab of cream, no sugar at all. That's when I knew coffee was probably going to be a no-no. I miss it so much. I've tried that teecino, or whatever it's called, and it's not too bad actually. But even thought that's no caffeine, I want to make sure that's not messing with my blood sugar levels either, so next time I drink it I'm going to do it upon waking with no food and then test my blood sugar 30 and 60 minutes after drinking it.

I got off caffeine last Tuesday and was suprised to see that my morning numbers have been MUCH better. I'm talking about my right when I wake up number, before I'd even have had my first cup of coffee. The withdrawal was ROUGH but I'm off it and for good this time.

I find this interesting as I've DRAMATICALLY decreased my caffeine intake over the last week. If I find that it improves my b/s I'll stick with it. I can't say I'd cut it out completely, but only having one or two drinks with caffeine a day would be a huge difference for me.
