| | new member question? I have recently joined and been reading the messages to get educated. The posted readings seem to be in the 3 digit range i.e. 122,110. My meter testing results are in the 2 digit range 5.3 to 12.9. Are the US readings calculated different than Canada? |

| | Yup... Good Question
USA uses mg/dl and Canada (plus most of the rest of the World) uses mmol/l
For example: 5.5 mmol/l is equal to about 100 mg/dl
If you look on this web page under Site Navigation there is a Converter.
Welcome to the site and keep those questions comin'

As for bg values, I can multiply and divide by 18, so it's no big deal, but it would be nice to make all the lab values consistent too... |

| | Metric's too easy. We keep sharp down here by multiplying by 12 & such while you guys get all soft shifting decimals.

| | It's not just Metric... it's actually SI units as in an International Standard
But then the US does have the World series of Baseball... who actually plays in the World series of Baseball? And don't even get me started on "Football" where the ball rarely if ever actually contacts a foot, and a "touchdown" only requires the player cross the line carrying the ball... without actually touching it down anywhere
Only kiddin' y'all

| | It's only a matter of time before we annex the USA and make it another Canadian Province... "like Maple Syrup dripping down the map of North America" ... "Anne Murray, all day.... every day!"

Where's Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles when you need them? Isn't it a boot time that we all just get along?
My daughter is dancing in our local Maple festival this Sunday. We actually have one here in the U.S.!
Local golf courses are open now but Jay Peak is still open for snowboarding!
