| | | Does my girl friend have diabetes ? I sometimes test my GF's BS. The results, different days, are as below:
after wake up = 80,70, 113,75,90,70,65,70,60
2 hrs after meal = 70, 130,80,90,75,80,75, 145,85,70,95,65,70,100
Does she need to check for diabetes in lab? and what to check?
Thanks

| | | to me, those numbers are not too alarming. Your meter has a 20% error rate.
however, not something to mess around with, if in doubt, any doubt - get tested.

| | | Numbers like that I would say no. But if you are worried, never hurts to have a check up.

| | | Not bad #s IMHO, but it would be easy enough to get a blood test (hemoglobin A1C) at the docs office to get a definitive answer.

| | | Heck, if you dont have or dont want to spend the money on a DR right away you could try the relion A1c test at Walfart. It is pretty close in testing accuracy

| | | Did she wash her hands before all the tests? Maybe something was on her hands that caused a higher than normal reading. Did you try re-testing when she had those higher readings (as meters can be 20% off)?
That's what I'd suggest next time she has a slightly higher reading. Have her wash her hands and test again, see if the reading's the same. If it is, it wouldn't hurt to get checked. I'd probably get the A1C test from ReliOn as suggested above, as a start. |

| | | Geeezzz...I'm jealous!!! Especially of those after meal numbers. I'm on meds and her highs are my good numbers. Lets not even talk abe her average for 2 hours after....A range I've never seen since I started testing.

| | | Those numbers look pretty normal to me. =) I wish they were mine! But then...I guess I wouldn't be Dibetic! lol
But if there are other symptoms and you guys are worried, get tested to get the worry out of your mind, why not!
Good luck =)
