| tingling and numbness in my feet I have a doctors appt. next week. Meanwhile I am worried and was wondering if anyone had similar symptoms and could tell me what might be going on, and if it sounds diabetes related. I have not been to the doc since I had my baby (6 years ago.) I know diabetes runs on both sides of my family, and I have been told I was anemic and hypoglycemic in the past (12 years ago.) I am a 27 year old female without any serious prior health problems and I am not on any medication. A few months ago I began experiencing tingling and numbness in both my feet. I ignored it at first, but it seems to be getting worse. I am tired ALL the time. Now it seems that in the evening I get very cold and I can’t get warm no matter what I do. I have the chills and the coldness seems to make the numbness worse. A few times I could not get feeling back into my feet even after massaging them and trying to move around to get my blood moving. I also began to have dizzy spells and shortness of breath. I though maybe I was anemic again since I have been having increasingly heavy periods. I began taking iron and B complex. This seemed to help, I was feeling better, except the numbness and tingling in my feet is still there. So is the cold intolerance that gets worse in the evenings and at night. Now for the past week I am waking up in the middle of the night literally soaked in sweat. I also wake up feeling tired, sore, and achy, and usually with both my hands dead asleep. As I said, I have an appointment next week but I am worried, and I was just wondering if anyone knew if these symptoms sounded diabetes related. Thanks for any help or advice. |
