Freestyle Aviator/Navigator

Freestyle is working on the Navigator CGMS. Freestyle is also working on the Aviator pump. However, Smith's is saying the Navigator is going to someone work with their pump. So why would Abbott couple their CGMS with the competition? Or will the Navigator work with both pumps? Or will the Navigator work with the Cozmo till the Aviator comes out, then switch. Or will the companies merge somehow? Should get interesting.

I have not heard or seen anything about the Navigator working with any pump. Do you have some info on this? I don't see how it would transmit with the Cozmo since there is no wireless technology in the Cozmo that I know of. And connecting it on the back would be a pain/huge. Looks like I have something to do today, research.

As rumors go, everything is heard from a friend!! I heard that the programmers at Deltec have the software ready to incorporate navigator data into the cozmo software ( i guess cozmo is supposed to be coming out with an upgrade soon and they may be just waiting on navigator approval) So the two do have a partnership that looks to continue with the navigator. Abbott also has a partnership with Insulet. I found a job posting for a sw engineer earlier this summer but it has since had all references to Insulet taken out after I started asking questions about an Omnipod/Navigator combination. I saved the text though, thinking this was not supposed to be common knowledge. They were hiring 3 1 year contract positions

"Supporting development of the low level design and device drivers for the next generation Navigator/Insulet/Caregiver monitor/Cradle ."

Below is the full text from the dice.com listing.

So, I think they want to cover the market with Abbott products in an effort to dominate the cgms arena. In all the current job postings for Abbott, they list Navigator many times and say "and other in vivo products" but never specifically name the Aviator. Curious.

Jedi, the current Cozmo only has IR, but I suspect a newer model may change this. So I guess the data from the Navigator will be able to upload to several different software programs? That would be cool, and give Abbott an edge, since many people could use it.

John Walsh Presentations from 2006 CWD

Check out this presentation: Slide 53

It's semi-official (well, not only my suspicions anways ) John Walsh is predicting the Navigator will integrate with Cozmo, Aviator and Omnipod.
