| | No Delivery! I just got my new Medtronic 522 last Wednesday...love it! What I didn't love was that I had to change it on my own yesterday. Followed all of the directions so that I didn't miss anything. Never got any kind of message during the prime, so went on my way and then a couple of hours later I get a "no delivery" message. Checked my blood and it was 250. Changed. A couple of hours later "no delivery". Checked my blood and it was 350. Called the support line. Changed at 8:00pm. Blood was down to 168 when I went to bed. 5:00am hear an alert. No delivery. Checked my blood 350. The cannula was not bent in any of my insertions, never hit muscle or scar tissue. Put my old 508 back on and am back into my ranges, now I am waiting to here from my pump trainer about an appt. with her to watch me insert. Any suggestions on what might have happened? |

| | | Which sets are you using? The same type as with your 508 (sans luer)? It could be the new sets even if they're the same type (ie Luer Quicksets vs Paradigm Quicksets). There may have been a bad run of them. It could be your insertion technique (that's what they want to look at) but if you've used them before with no problem, it's probably not that. If not the sets nor your technique, it's probably in the pump. It could be a too sensitive sensor, a bad motor, too tight reservoir (you do spread the lubricant around, don't you?) or something else.

| | | Hi,
Sorry if this is a little of the topic, but I see you are talking about the one of the current model mm pumps. Does it still come with a remote like the earlier ones? Thanks, Jade.

| | | Are you using Quick-Sets with the new 522? if so, I can't say that I'm surprised about the No Delivery alarms. I would not go back to using Quick-Sets if I could help it.
One thing you can try when you get a No Delivery alarm using Quick-Sets is to just disconnect the tubing at the site and then rconnect. Sometimes it just doesn't line up properly.
If you're not using Quick-Sets, I have no idea what could be wrong.

| | | I have been using Quicksets for almost six years with little trouble. I know some have, but I really have only had about three bad sets. One thing that you can do is disconnect the canula, do a bolus and see if insulin is coming out. If it is coming out the disconnected canula then you can safely assume the problem is in the inserted section of your canula. Either a clog or bent canula or defect. If it has happened after several set changes and you are not seeing a drop of insulin when you do the bolus with the canula disconnected, then I would assume a pump problem. |

Thanks, Jade. | No, Only the 508's came with a remote. If you want a remote you have to pay extra. I think they use the same remote as the 508.
I have used the quick sets for a few years too and never had any trouble, I would try as Notme suggested to eliminate all possibilities.

However, I have a 512 and have just started having the same "no delivery" problem myself. I'm not sure, but I suspect I've gotten a bad batch of the 23-inch tubing for my Silhouettes. By any chance are you using the same sets as I am? |

| | | I had the same thing happen to me before. It only happens in my stomach. Whenever I put it there, it gives me a no delivery. I don't use my stomach because I never liked it there but when I did try to put it there it doesn't work. At least 5 times that has happened so I just don't try it there anymore. The cannula isn't kinked or anything. So I don't understand it. It also happened 2 times in a row on my side/hip. Not sure why. Oh and I use the quicksets too |

| | | I would put my money on a bad pump or bad batch of sets. An experienced pumper wouldn't have the same problem you are having. I wonder what they think watching you will gain from this. Are they going to stay with you for 5 hours till you get a no delivery alarm?

| | | So, I met with my pump trainer yesterday and she watched me to make sure that I wasn't missing anything...and I wasn't. Off she went and I continued on to lunch, bolused and "no delivery". I came back to the office and changed out sets, but had a problem with the tape sticking and so I put the 508 back on and called the hotline. The gal I talked to put me through some quick tests and she thought that they were bad sets. So, she told me to go home and open up new boxes and try it again. So I did and guess what? No delivery. I called and talked to another person at the hotline. We just started talking about everything that has happened in the last week and anything that I've noticed different since the change. The no delivery only happens when I am connected and doing a bolus. When I disconnect and run a prime...everything is fine. The other thing is that my inserter seems to skip a little when I am inserting. So, long story short. He's sending me a new inserter, as well as, some extra quick sets to make up for the ones I've used and also some soft sets for my 522, maybe the quicksets just don't work for me. Needless to say, it's been a bit frustrating, but I love the pump when everything is working. Thanks for the input...I'll let you know what happens. |

| | I received my new supplies on Friday. Quicksets, Softsets and the new inserter. It definitely was the inserter. It wasn't inserting the cannula in correctly. Everything is back on track! | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
