Minimed - to be continued

I sent an e-mail to MM's "Contact Us" address about two things: being asked to pay a co-pay for training at the endo's office and being told that the pump package would include 3 months worth of supplies only to find that meant - not the strips. Here's what I've gotten back so far:
----------------------------------
I got the message that you sent to the home office. Can you let me know who your doctor is ?

I'm wanting to make sure that we exceed your expectations.

So... maybe that's where it will stop, but ... we'll see. I'd love to have my expectations exceeded.

Test strips generally aren't included as pump supplies.

Training shouldn't have a separate copay, that should be included with your pump.

If you aren't happy with minimed, why do you keep dealing with them, instead of getting a different pump?

Strips have nothing to do with pump supplies.

supplies are sets and reservoirs, and sometimes IV 3000 and skin prep wipes.

I am not unhappy with mm - I'm too new to be unhappy with anyone. I understand about the strips - and really didn't know what was included with the "everything you'll need for the first 3 months" statement. However, since it is the meter which that particular pump reads seems like that could be an included supply. I should have asked more specific questions about what was included.

I WAS unhappy at being asked for the co-pay, but again - I hadn't asked whether I'd have to pay for training. I was impressed at MM's quick, courteous reply and told them so when I answered the message. I'm sorry that this was taken another way.

My main point is that if you have a question - ask. If things don't seem quite right - let people know. They can explain and you can accept that explanation or they can remedy if the situation isn't what they expected either.

Many of us don't like the BD link meter, so the fact you got no strips (it ships with 25 strips, BTW) shouldn't be all that bad. I use my Link meter only for pump-PC communciations. Not for checking my bg's. My wife has a pump too and she, unlike me, likes her BD meter.

I know of no other meter that has elicted so many negative comments on the internet. I side with those that don't trust it...
