| | | Upgraded Cosmo 1800 Features I just had the opportunity to use the Low BG feature of my pump. My BG had dropped to 48 and the pump told me to eat 21 grams of carbs which I just did.
My question for all of you is what did you set as low on your pump? I set 60 but am thinking that is too low and it should be at 70. Also for my desired BG, I set it at 110. What have you set on your pump for the desired BG? |

| | | My low is set at 75, target at 100. I think I'm going to change low to 70 though. |

| | | I might change from 110 to 100. I try to keep my BG below 100 and most of the time I do. But, the low amount has been ok for me at 60 but my Diabetes Educator says not to let it drop below 70. Once I was in her office and she tested me. I was at 72 and she said I couldn't drive until I ate something. I ate some carbs and within a few minutes I was ok. |

It will still suggest carbs to eat or insulin to bolus without setting the low or high.

| | Have you played with the food database yet?? It uses grams of carbohydrate to calculate a bolus, but does not subtract fiber. I always subtract fiber from carbs to get net carbs, so I'm afraid the food database won't help me much |

I like to wake up in the 60ish range because my insulin sensitivity is terrible in the AM hours, and I eat the majority (about 60%) of my daily carbs then too at breakfast, so being close to hypo helps that tremendously for me. I usually level out to high 80's to low 90's afterwards.
