| | | Tegaderm Has anyone here used the Tegaderm dressings? I was just about to order some when I saw that they were more than double the cost of IV3000s. Anyone know why this is? Are they that much better than IV3000s?

| | | I like Tegaderm much better than the IV3000 patches. They hold up better with moisture (e.g. sweating), and they don't irritate my skin like the IV3000 patches do. |

| | | Did you have any problems getting insurance coverage? It looks like the tagaderms are $2.20/each while the IV3000s are $0.65/each but I just realized the tagaderms are also double the size.

| | | My insurance (Kaiser Permanente) does not pay for tape, transmitters, or sensors. But Tegaderm patches come in all kinds of sizes, and they're much cheaper from other places than MiniMed. |

| | | They used tegaderm over my IVs in the hospital and it was itchy. I use IV3000 at home and it doesn't make me itchy. |

| | | I use Tegaderm HP and they run about $.70 each or $70.00 USD per 100. I bought the first box but then found out that my insurance pays if my doctor writes the prescription. If your insurance doesn't pay, google the internet and find a cheaper source. They should be the same size and approximate cost of the IV3000. |

| | | I too use Tagaderm. I use the Tagaderm HP during the summer. I used to get it from Disetronic, but the cleos have tagaderm so I am hoping I can without. Insurance coverd it for me, as they did IV3000 until I developed an allergy to it.

| | | Well, IV3000 is ok, but once I shower, they become a gooey mess and like to lift up too easily, but hey, they are cheaper than Tegaderm. I have a tone of Tegaderm because a friend at a hospital supply room here gave me a box full, and it lasts through 3-4 showers easily. They seem to be more sturdy and aren't as noticeable to me. Get a small pack to try and see if you like 'em better.

| | | I haven't tried Tagaderm. I do use IV Prep, which is cheap and works well for me.

IV3000s are the reason I had to disconnect my transmitter last night. I took a shower with one, and ripped it off afterwards, leaving the "gooey mess" you described all over the transmitter. Those cost me a whole night of BGs.

| | | I actually put down IV3000, insert the set, then cover it with Tegaderm. There's a variety of reasons. I can't cover my set properly with the IV3000 because of the opaque and stiff backing, IV3000 is much cheaper, I have trouble getting the edges of the Tegaderm to stick which is not a problem when it's covering, etc.
