| | | Another Bleeder So in the month of March if I recall I've had 3 bleeders. It's starting to really drive me nuts as I've never had this serious of a problem before. I use the Inset, insert, and get a sharp pain. Today I was lucky to save the Inset as I didn't push it all the way against my skin, so the tape hadn't fully stuck yet. As I pull out, blood flows like the Nile out. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR It's getting really old though and fast.

| | | Perhaps you should change sets and see if the problem is set related. I had a bleeder last week also, but that's only about 3 in the last year for me...

| | | Now to add insult to injury....besides having a huge bulge on my right side from the bleeder, my old site I just removed is dark purple. The odd part is it hurt the first day a tad, but I delt with it and that quickly went away. So the final two days no pain at all, but yet "little hole area" on the infusion set where the canula goes through and there's no tape, is all purple on my skin.

| | | just a suggestion I have no idea why you are having bleeders but i know that I am on cumadin and that the food I eat affects the thickness of my blood maybe you are just getting less vitamin k in your diet and it is causing your blood to be thinner they used to tell me when i was on shots that i just hit a blood vessel and it was no big deal but I think i might be a bit concerned if it kept happening to me too..... |

However, I've had 3 in just the month of March. I haven't changed my diet at all, so I'm not sure what's up. Oh well, I'll break out the Flintstone vitamins

| | | I have been pumping for 4 years and have had 3 bleeders and no ill effects from the site.
I use quicksets 9mm, IV Prep, and IV-3000 under the set.
If I did not use the IV-3000, I would get some bulging.
Sorry this is happening to you, and I would definitely try to figure out the cause. Call your CDE or endo, they have seen it all, or better yet call your rep with the pump company or the pump company direct.
