No, I haven't received it yet either. Maybe soon - it will probably take a couple more weeks or so.

I had forgotten that I had ordered one! I have a feeling they were bombarded with more requests than they had realized via the internet.

I don't expect to see it in under 8 weeks. Heck, even then usually when I request stuff from companies as freebies it can take up to 6 months. Kinda sucks if they truely want to sell their product you'd think they'd move a little faster.

Yes, but I guess it goes along with the whole "supply & demand," not to mention that we're getting the products for free. The only time I got irritated was when I ordered the Freestyle Lite. It took what I considered to be a seriously long time to get it, then some people got coupons only. I was glad to finally get mine, but I felt that others got a "cheesy" deal by only receiving coupons. However, I also considered the fact that it may have to do with those who are in the "Friends for Life" program vs. those who aren't (not sure though).

Of course, since these items (meters, Pods, etc.) are free, I'm willing to wait a bit longer to get one.

Maybe I was special because I got the coupons then a week later got the meter as well. So I got two free meters for that promotion somehow.

I got the exact same thing. I got the coupons first and then a few days later, I got the meter. Odd.

If anyone needs a meter out there with some strips, I have plenty to share. I don't need them all.

I also have Freestlye Flash strips that will expire before I can use them all. Just pm and let me know and I can send it to you.

Yep, same thing here on the Lite.

Omnipod has virtual pump software on CD. I hope they include that. Why it's not on their website is beyond me. The rep at a JDRF meeting I went to said they had it, but I left before I could grab one.

Now that we have the link for the free Omnipod, how bought some free iPods?

I was gonna order one, but being that I'm in Canada now, I can't. When you guys get yours let me know what you think of the size. I probably won't be switching anytime soon, but it's nice to know what's out there.

I just FAX'ed the statement of medical necessity along with my patient information and insurance card to OmniPod this afternoon (an hour ago).

Now to see if my insurance company will dance with them or if it will be rejected altogether. This would be my first pump. I've been MDI and have never had an A1c over 5.8%.

Let the countdown begin!

Anyone on the OmniPod recall how long it took to hear back from them after sending them all the required information?

I'm getting impatient, and it's only been less than 48 hours. (sigh!)

I haven't gotten mine yet. I ordered it on the 30th of December. Sure takes them long enough.

The sample Insulet/Omnipod sends you doesn't help much other than to get a feel for the size. It has a 3/4" round piece of velcro on it that is useless for understanding how it will truely feel while wearing it. The "real life" pod is heavier because of the insulin and working internals that isn't present in the sample pod. The real one also adheres to the body much better than what a sample unit allows. I used some double stick tape and took it for a test drive - but still alot different than the real thing. No doubt it takes some getting used to. Never been on another pump though, so I can't give comparisons...only opinions - and we all know how that goes!

As for the software, I received it last week but haven't had time to set it up yet. It was a welcomed package to receive though...
