just call me cyborg #2

lol

assimilation is complete!

my first day was a bit shaky as i was so nervous but i feel much more relaxed today as there havent been any problems so far (touches wood!)

my issues (minor ones actually) are how to wear the pump discreetly, and how to not get strangled twice in the night with the tubing lol!

ive come into work this morning as one of the girls is off with some throat virus (hope i dont get one of those!) so ive brought a mountain of emergency snacks with me ~ just in case lol!

i have to go back for more training tomorrow and the first set change and tweek to basals if required.

so far, so good

I am happy for you, with Cyborg is a good place to be! It sounds like you are doing good with this, and that is encouraging for those of us considering the pump.

Congratulations & Welcome to the "Pumper's Club".
I clip my pump either on my waist or the pocket of my pants.

Congratulations Sharon.
I can't wait to join the club and become a borg as well.

Non-issues, but you'll learn that soon enough. It has really amazed me how innocuous these things really are. The tubing seems virtually invisible to all but us diabetics. Most people assume the pump's a pager or cellphone.

You may need that mountain, but not on decent days. It's when you get set failures and you are not sure whether your previous bolus has or will work that you'll need them. I've found that yes, that bolus 8 hrs ago has decided to work after all!

I 'd love to hear their logic on this one. IMO it's very difficult to make even an educated guess without basal testing or many days of rather complicated controlled testing of varying carb counts and bolus amounts. It's like focussing binoculars with both eyes open. It can't be done easily without lots of luck.

Welcome to the club, I am finding it better everyday myself.

Yesterday I had a migrane all day and ran low twice, so I think a little tweaking might be needed if it happens like that again.

today at work has been okay, the pump trainer told me to run my BG's a bit higher while the basal rates are established to reduce hypo risks.
im thinking my basals are a teensy bit high because the BG's are having a tendency to run down over a few hours. i'm being very strict with my carb input, and not making any corrections for high's ~ there hasnt been anything over 12.3/221 so far.
