Criteria for a pump in the UK

Hiya! Does anyone know what the criteria is for getting an insulin pump on the NHS? I am considering it as I have been working nights, and think it might make life easier, but the last time I asked about it I was told my control was too good without one. Does anyone know if this is still the case? Also do many people in the UK have pumps?
