Cozmo Pump

I have notice whenever I take my case off my pump its sticky.
Anyone else have this problem?

I don't think my verison 1 Cozmo did this at all.

Yes! I have the same thing with mine. It is the sealer in the stitching of the seams on the inside of the case.

DO NOT even attempt to use any liquid (water, cleaner, alcohol, etc) on a rag to try and remove it. If you do you will send your pump into FAILUE. I know, happened to me 2 months ago and had to wait for Smiths to send me a new one and took 2 days over a weekend.

Isn't the Cosmo supposed to be waterproof? If the sealant is actually failing and the pump is no longer protected then it sounds like you should be calling to get your pump replaced.

The stickiness is coming from inside the case...not inside the pump.

I thought it was the newer case to the pump and not the pump itself.
Just wanted to know if anyone else had it happening.

Maybe they should fix to an updated case.

I communicated to the local Smith's rep here (Smith's HQ is located here in Minneapolis) regarding this issue. He stated to me that they are aware of the issue and are working with the manufacturer to correct it. He also agreed that the leather case for the Cozmore system (pump & meter) is not the best and they are activly working on some design replacements. In the mean time he suggested I look into this product as a possible replacement.

I was having that problem too. I decided that I'd use the other case that they make, the one that doesn't hold the Cozmonitor. Since you can just hold the Cozmonitor up to the back of the pump to check your bg, I just do it that way...
