Contour Link - Canada eh!

I got it today direct from Minimed. The local Purolator stop had a 15 of them ready for pickup. Of course they send them to our homes with no notice, not that it would matter. And it required a sig so no leaving on the step.

My Pharmacist thought it would be a newer version requiring only .3ul of blood instead of the advertised .6ul. Wrong! It still takes a larger amount and it is more sensitive than the BD. It errs very very easily. I've wasted 1 of 4 tests. So far the readings are close enough to my BD.

Lunch pp double comparison
BD 5.1, 7.0
Contour 6.3, 5.8

I'll be testing side-by-side as long as my fingers let me.

'sfunny 'cos when the Link first came out I was already using a Contour and after trying the meter (forget the brand) Minimed sent out I trusted my Contour readings more so stuck with it... time to give the Link another go eh!

I'm surprised you don't have yours yet. I'm only a four hour drive closer to Torannah!

I got mine last week too. Other than the fact that it puts the readings to my pump, and takes a smaller amount of blood (with it's "sip" technology), it's not all that great and I'm not going to change from my OneTouch Ultrasmart.

Frankly it's kind of ticky that these companies just don't put all the great stuff from all the meters into one product. Bayer Strips are the best at sucking blood. Ultrasmart is the best meter because it stores so much info (if you want that, but don't "have" to use it) and their prices are the cheapest). I'd like a night light for dark situation.

Trouble is it's market driven and there is no incentive for the pharmaceutical companies to get together and do the best by us... maybe we need to start a Big-D Co-Operative..?

I have a contour link also. It's great! I love how you can set the settings before you eat after you eat and just random. It keeps me organized!

Did yours come with a cable? I need to get one.

How come I didn't get a contour link? What do you have to do? Is it the new one they were talking about from one touch?

You have to live in Canada. And no, the OneTouch one hasn't been approved yet.

I have the Contour link, but I'm not using it. Never even took it out of the package. Hoping that someone in the states will want to trade for the one touch link when it comes out?
