Hi Marly, welcome! You might want to check out some of our older post threads..there are lots of them full of good information. Can't answer your question, as i'm T2 not on insulin, but wanted to welcome you to the forums.

As another type 2, welcome. Check out the Type 2 listings there are many that deal with pumping.

Hi back, Marly.

Like Linda said, do a search for things with the word pump in them on this board. Tons of information.

The long and the short of it? Sure makes life easier. Easier to sneak in a bolus when really need it. Easier to keep track of how much insulin you've taken. Easier to figure how much insulin you need. Easier to carry your stuff.

That enough for now?

Check out the pump threads and then ask anything you can think of that you want to know. We aren't shy here because we are all in the same boat.

Glad you found us. Again, Welcome.

Mich

I feel great. Yes it is definitly worth it. After 32 years of MDI and fighting the pump idea I kick myself now for not doing it earlier.

For me, the pump has returned the experience of "feeling healthy" to my life. A week into pumping, I realised that for my 15 years of MDI, I was under a malaise of feeling constantly under the weather and "off" in mind and body, from swinging blood sugars.

It is not something I think makes things "easier"... rather, it facilitates me being healthier, in turn returning energy and life force to me. It also provides options to be a lot more flexible with my lifestyle, such as eating light with no real effort to adjust, and excercise with the tools to really minimise "managing" my BG over that period.
