Yesterday, I was changing my infusion set & resevoir, I attached the resevoir to the line, manually pushed on plunger to bring up insulin to tip of infusion needle, inserted infusion line, and resevoir into pump, forgot to finish priming. Couldn,t get pump to go past that point. Had to get new infusion set, reprime, then inserted infusion set. Wasted one new infusion set because of it. How do you reuse resevoirs and or infusion sets with the priming issue? Do you worry about air bubbles in line if reusing the already inplace infusion set? How do you get past the priming point when just replacing the cartridge? Thanks for any info. JuneR

I find it hard to follow your question, I havn't come across priming problems like this. Maybe if you put down the process you are taking about in point form, tell us exactly what you are doing and where you feel in goes wrong. What pump, too.

Unless you're using an omnipod, I believe all othe infusion sets can be disconnected from your body. So you can just disconnect and re-prime it until the insulin is dripping from the end.

Ahhh, is that the problem, trying to deal with a line still connected? Yes, Rocky is right, you can disconnect, in fact, it is probably fair to say NEVER replace your cartridge whether new or reused, without fully re-priming the line OFF your body, as per official methods.

If you leave the line connected, you risk almost certainly over dosing yourself with unwanted insulin as you manual prime an already full line, plus any bubbles will be in the system.
