Good advice on making one change at a time. I know to do that and I'm glad I haven't adjusted anything yet. I think tomorrow I will drop my basal a bit to see if I can kick the lows. I'm never 100% rigid with my I:C. I can see that adjusting basals is the key. I pretty much have bolusing down pat so fine tuning my basal is the next step. I'm sure once I figure it out everything will change somehow and I'll be starting all over again.

Controlling sugars is like playing Texas Hold 'em with myself. I'm pretty bad at it, I always fall for the bluffs, and I always lose money

Posibly! But! Starting over from a better place... because as you gain experience and confidence you will know what you are doing more and more, be more confident in what needs adjusting, if your requirements change again.

Also, you may well find that inherent instability that can plague us with MDI will seriously improve, as you strike the right chords with your insulin requirements. Looking back I realise a lot of my variability on MDI had so much to do with the "ripple" effect of constant fluctuations. (Largely caused by an inability to meet basal needs with long acting). As you iron those fluctuations out for longer periods of time, you really might be suprised at the new, calmer picture emerging.

I know this feeling... but things should improve, just don't expect it overnight...

95% of the time I leave mine connected. Morning showers are during the peak of my DP basals, so I really hate to disconnect. I simply attach it to the top of the shower curtain. One has to be careful moving around though.

Keep in mind they should probably be adjusted in tandem. Typically everyone has gaps where one compensates for the other. Usually if you add or subtract basal, you will also subtract or add bolus. Not always.
