That's a pretty good idea. I probably wouldn't use it too often given how much I hate lugging extras around. It's just so cool to see all these innovations making it to market.

I'm glad I didn't rush off and get a MM since I'm already approved by insurance to get a new pump and CGMS. I was hoping Animas would come out with something. I'll be contacting them today about availability and other questions. I really hope they have increased the reservoir size...

Very cool, can't wait for the CGMS version of this. I've got at least another 2-3 years on my current 1250 pump warranty so you guys get out there and use the heck out of the Ping and get all the bugs worked out before I have to buy one.

Shoot! I wish I'd known that this was coming! I would have seriously considered an Animas Ping instead of my new MM 522. I love the idea of the BG meter being able to control pump functions.

Oh well, there's always the next one...

I have a year and a half on my current pump. I am thinking once again about getting CGMS because of some serious lows I have experienced lately. I always seem to buy a pump when something is just on the verge of coming out and I miss out. sigh........

Don't feel bad, Nancy...The "Murphy's law" thing often happens to me, too (where I buy one thing & a couple of months later, something new that I was wanting comes out). I've been fine over the past couple of years (because I have a primary pump & one for backup that I purchased out of pocket), but I always love new technology. Since nothing new to my liking has come out recently (with the exception of the CGMS), I've not really been interested in changing companies or "moving forward," so to speak - hence my purchase of the CGMS standalone instead of the full system. Hopefully in the near future, our collective voices will be heard & something will come along that appeals to almost everyone.

Hang in there with the lows. I know it's scary and can make a person feel awful.

I actually thought this new Animas pump had CGMS, but apparently it doesn't. Guess I'll wait a little longer...

Now only if the rest of the pumping world would follow suit! Nice going Animas! Of course, I still have to wade through the windows world for my MM and Carelink. Oh well. At least one company figured out that we mac users are worth servicing too!

Has anyone been able to find out the reservoir size on this new pump? I need a 3ml. Just curious because I am not too far from choosing a new pump myself!

I would assume with the larger size compared to the 2mL Animas 2020, this could be a feature.

I would go as far to say that you could *assume* they've taken in all the feedback and may well offer the Ping in 3mL.

Very interesting, and looks like a really cool product. I love my 2020 so that with the remote features would be great.

I wonder if it will have 'super bolus' features (so it gets the IoB right, as doing it manually and suspending the basal does not).

I'm glad that there is a new version of EZ Manager coming out, as I must say that the current version is the weakest aspect of the product IMO. It's useful, but nowhere near as slick as the Onetouch software. For BG analysis, I still use the Onetouch software as I find it tells me what I want to know in a format I can understand whereas I do struggle somewhat with EZ Manager. It's a little bit Windows 98 for my liking....

Rolls over, farts and falls asleep

My body broken, bent, abused

I give it plenty with my pump

I am not on a pump yet but I know its in my near future. But what if you set your ping down and someone or a kid picks it up and plays with it. Scary thought. I am sure it has a lock out but.

I've been doing some research to help a friend who is considering going to a pump. I wasn't taken by the older Animas' but I am really liking them now. Plus I really like that pink color! My current pump (MM722) was picked up Aug 2005 (though I paid the upgrade fee a year ago to add the cgms...but I don't think this matters as far as insurance goes...) So that would mean the end of next summer I could go for it maybe? My old insurance covered for this one though, so maybe I could get a new one now? Not sure. Either way... as soon as Animas and Dexcom have cgms working with the pump... I'm jumping ship to Animas.

Quote from Animas...
"Upgrade program
You get automatic access to the latest advancements in OneTouch® pumping technology*, including continuous glucose monitoring (an advancement that is already in the works, thanks to our partnership with DexCom™)."

My current concern about the DexCom7 is the waterproofness...it seems to be lacking. "Water resistant (up to 3 feet for 30 minutes)" according to DexCom's site.
