Just wondering on average how long the batteries should last, I swapped to this pump about 4 months ago (its not a new pump) and at first got a couple of weeks now its not even a week. I got the batteries of a friend who has since upgraded and she did say shes had them a while could they be out of date? Thanks for any help on this

Batteries for the 508 should last at least 4 weeks unless you use a vibrate alert mode. I used the 508 for four years and the batteries always lasted four weeks or more. I would suggest buying brand new batteries and clean the contact cap with a Q-tip and moisten with alcohol.
